Concepts:
Clarity is not a state like hunger, it's a feeling which means WE CREATE IT WITH OUR THOUGHTS
Once we know that we can create clarity in a second we understand that whilst experiencing overwhelm is something we will always encounter as humans, STAYING overwhelmed is a choice. Because you now have the tools to dissolve the overwhelm
Action Step:
Today either pick one thing that you feel overwhelmed with or think back to the last thing you felt overwhelmed about
Place one hand on your heart, one on your stomach (or if you feel very activated you can pause and hug yourself) and notice what's happening with your breathing and also how your chest feels and anywhere else in your body, your stomach for example or throat.
Say out loud 'I know what's happening' and 'It's ok to be uncomfortable' (check your voice, is it the voice you would use with someone you love, a small child, a frightened animal?)
Then say 'I know what to do' - Right now I just need to be with myself, I don't need to do anything else.
When you feel a degree calmer ask yourself what the fear/overwhelm is trying to tell you
Decide on one thing you will do, whether that's take a break to go outside or set a timer and just write a list of things on your brain, really break it down to 'just the next little thing'
Then say out loud 'I create clarity'
