If you’re just getting started with coaching, the most powerful question to create change can be the simple ‘What do I want?’
Say it out loud.
Feel what happens in your body, to your voice, as a response to what you say.
It will tell if you think you can’t have the thing, if you think it’s wrong or if you’re not actually that motivated.
It can bring up discomfort. The realisation that maybe you don’t want to be in the relationship you’re in any more.
That’s ok.
We don’t have to act on the want, but we do want to be aware of it.
The truth is, we don’t know what is on the other side of making space to hear the want.
But we do want to make space to find out because our wants will not go away on their own, and if we suppress them they can turn from something beautiful and expansive that fuels our self-trust and capacity to be honest with ourselves into something that creates unease and hesitation at best and will actually make us sick at worst.
The good news is that wanting is a skill, you can learn how to master it and I’m sharing this workshop here with you on Joy Ambition today because I realised a few days into the Untangle Bootcamp that it was too important for a 10 minute lesson so we dove into it fully, I wanted you to have an overview of the full role your capacity to want plays in the life you create and experience!
You can grab the pages along with the full Untangle Bootcamp over at The Joy Studio, and I’d love to hear how this impacts you in the comments!
P.S.
I’m excited to introduce The Joy Studio Bespoke this week, for those of you who are too busy to get coached/time zones don’t work for you… or you'r just like me and tend to not be a sitting down in front of a laptop person and are happiest thinking on the fly whilst walking your dog and sending a voice note!
This takes the best of my brain with the best of coaching to get you the best possible response, voice note coaching so that you can get support on demand, my voice note clients LOVE experiencing the mental space and clarity of having a question they want support with and dropping it into our mental ‘inbox’ knowing they’ll get an answer that gets them unstuck next time they check in!
